The existing Joomla! website needed a design refresh and the site owners weren't happy with Joomla's convoluted administration interface. My preference for Wordpress' clean Admin and reasonably usable content management made it a good fit for a revamp.
The design introduces some nice value-add theatre to features and watermarks, animating page elements to suggest quality and a responsiveness to user scrolling. The lined ribbon watermarks do a subtle animated pathway reveal which is suggestive of a gift, with its ribbon-like reveal.
As the user scrolls down the page, new elements fade-in and slide into position to enhance the theatrical drama. The site is fairly light on content and whitespace has been used to good effect.
Site Structure

Build Features
The build mantra is always minimal layers between the standard wordpress content and the user. That means wherever possible, just content, html and css. the same goes with the CMS. minimal use of plugins so as not to degrade website performance.
The WordPress theme builds on content connectivity and reusability. Most inner pages and posts utilise a teaser/content structure enabling almost any site content to be featured elsewhere, automatically pulling the link, teaser and feature image from the content. This lets the administrator simply select the featured content and the site manages the display and link automatically.
Related site content is dynamic and pulls directly from the configured page read-more and feature image content.
WYSIWYG editing brings much of the front end’s formatting and layout to the backend’s administration area letting the content author develop with a good sense of the end result, without having to understand much of the technology behind it.
Integration
The site uses asx announcement data provided by weblink IR, pulled into the relevant pages via PHP calls to receive and format JSON data.
Custom Plugins
People – custom plugin written by BinaryPusher to separate posts into a usable staff profile.
